2022 Reading Journal

2021 was a great reading year for me. I was able to read 133 books in total - 25 graphic novels, 104 fiction, and 4 non-fiction. Let me tell you that this is the most I've ever read in one year. This definitely isn't typical for me. Ha. But I'm glad I had the time for it. I read a lot of great books that have won themselves a spot in my all-time faves for sure. Will I be reading as much this year? This remains to be seen. Due to life circumstances, I had more free time to read in 2021. However, I do have a delicious TBR that I can't wait to delve into.

2022 READING THEMES

In the interest of dwindling down my physical TBR, I started my themed reading last year. What that means is that I pick a theme or category for each month of the year and I read books related to those things - preferably ones that I already own - but I also often include titles I want to read and haven't bought yet. So far, it has been going very well. I do, however, have to constantly remind myself to prioritize adding my owned books to the list.

If you want to read along with me or if you have suggestions for any of the themes/categories below, feel free to send them my way! I'm not fully sold on this schedule yet and they are subject to change.

JANUARY - Classics Retelling/Historical Fiction

FEBRUARY - Time

MARCH - Heirs and Royalty

APRIL - Magic

MAY - Mystery/Thrillers

JUNE - Paranormal/Witches

JULY - Faes

AUGUST - Dark Academia

SEPTEMBER - Fairytales/Fairytale Retellings

OCTOBER - Villains

NOVEMBER - Paranormal Angels and Gargoyles

DECEMBER - Ocean

of Book Clubs and Buddy Reading

I'm also in a book club with my dear friend Alexa, from @alexalovesbooks, I buddy-read a bunch of books with her last year. Unbeknownst to both of us then, we were already in a book club with all the books we read together. We decided to make it official this year and I must say, we do have quite the line-up. I won't be sharing it on here as we are finalizing lists as the year goes on. You'll have to keep an eye out on our socials!
